Writer was wrong on several fronts
Letter to the Editor
Sunday, April 13, 2008

On April 11, a letter by Mildred Grigsby stated that all the wars since World War I were started by Democrats and cleaned up by Republicans. It's just not true.

And to blame the present mess in Iraq on President Carter is absurd. I always thought that President Reagan with his henchman Ollie North did whatever it took to delay the release of the hostages. Who knows what kind of deal they made with the Iranians?

Also I don't believe in giving the reporters guns. If anybody ought to be over there fighting, it's Congress. Send those Washington fatcats over there and I bet the war would be over, at least our part, in a month. I do agree, though, with Mrs. Grigsby that we should not pull out without total victory.
