AUGUSTA, Ga. - Bobby Hawkins Powell, Sr., 80, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Memorial Gardens in North Augusta, South Carolina. Chris Powell, Bo Storey, Marshall Hadden, Wesley Powell, Kent Overstreet, Brad Overstreet and Grant Overstreet will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mary Powell and his sister, Wylene Hartzog. He had resided in Augusta most of his life and had worked in various capacities for several locally owned furniture stores. He will be missed. He is survived by Ester Parsons, mother of his children; son, Bobby (Donna) Powell, Jr.; daughters, Bonnie (Marshall) Hadden, Marie Storey; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren; brother, Joe (Mary) Powell; sister, Shirley (John) Overstreet; brother-in-law, Connie Hartzog and several nieces and nephews.
