Aiken Prep's Weston Peters set a boys soccer school record with five goals in the Knights' 14-1 rout of Anderson Christian last week.
The team also set records for goals in a game, margin of victory, shots on goal and goals in one half.
Kyle Wyszynski had a hand in eight goals, with four goals and four assists. Zach Harrington scored twice and had a pair of assists.
The Knights are 3-0 to open the season.
PACER PATH: USC Aiken will open its new Pacer Path, a multipurpose fitness trail, at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The trail, which is four miles long and 15 feet wide, is on property next to the USC Aiken Convocation Center.
The opening and dedication ceremony will be followed by a South Aiken High School track meet. Other participants include Evans, Midland Valley, Pelion and Gilbert.
GOING UNNOTICED: Greenbrier's volleyball team is off to one of its hottest starts in recent memory. Unfortunately, the pollsters don't seem to have noticed.
The Wolfpack, which have started 15-0, remains unranked in the latest PrepCountry.com/GACA coaches poll.
Greenbrier has been dominant this season, not dropping a game in any of its matches (32 in all).
SNEAKING IN: Thomson made its debut in the softball coaches poll this week, coming in at 10th in Class AAA.
The Lady Bulldogs (11-2), winners of four in a row when the polls were released, earned a big doubleheader sweep against Harlem on Saturday, 15-3 and 4-3.
The area's other three ranked teams all held their positions. Screven County is fifth in Class AA, Evans is eighth in Class AAAA and Greenbrier is third in Class AAAAA.
FINDING THEIR WAY: After a bit of a slow start, Westminster's boys soccer team bounced back with a pair of blowout wins last week, beating John Milledge 5-0 and Tattnall Square 7-1.
The Wildcats have been powered by Will McCartney , who tallied three goals and four assists in those two games. Michael Bone has also tallied three goals and recorded one assist.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR THIS WEEK:
Today: Westminster at Augusta Prep, boys soccer
Area rivals meet for the first time this season. The teams split the season series last year, with Prep winning 1-0 at Westminster and the Wildcats beating the Cavaliers 2-1 at Augusta Prep.
Friday: Greenbrier at Marist, softball
This is one of Georgia's biggest regular season softball games this season. The Wolfpack, ranked third in Class AAAAA, travel to play the top-ranked team in Class AAAA. Marist won a state championship in 2008.
