Highlights from the first quarter of the Hephzibah at Westside game.

HEPHZIBAH 42, WESTSIDE 0

PLAY OF THE GAME: Hephzibah senior wideout Gary Robinson hauled in a perfectly thrown 30-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Terry Robinson to give the Rebels a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. The receiver went up high to make the catch over his outside shoulder near the sideline and got one foot down inbounds for the score.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Hephzibah senior running back Antoine Nabors rushed for 121 yards on only nine attempts and had touchdown jaunts of 30 and 34 yards in the second quarter, when the Rebels blew open a 14-0 lead for a 35-0 halftime advantage.

WHY WESTSIDE LOST: The Patriots couldn't hold on to the football. Westside committed four turnovers, including three fumbles, and gave up 219 rushing yards to the Rebels.

WHY HEPHZIBAH WON: The Rebels' running game was in high gear. Hephzibah's defense held Westside to only 67 yards rushing on 19 carries.

QUOTEBALE: "Our defense continues to be our strength while the offense is still growing up." -- Hephzibah head coach John Bowen
