LAKESIDE 39, WESTSIDE 0
PLAY OF THE GAME: Ahead by two scores, Lakeside pulled from its bag of tricks early in the second quarter. The Panthers ran "Swamp Donkey" -- an end-around pass play -- to perfection, as Justin Pitock hit wide open fellow senior Corey Jones for a 53-yard touchdown.
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Sophomore Mark Weidenaar displayed his versatility, scoring on a pass, a reception and a run. He finished with 166 yards of total offense.
WHY LAKESIDE WON: It achieved nearly perfect balance on offense, with 198 rushing yards vs. 194 yards through the air. On defense, Lakeside kept a constant push into the Westside backfield while securing its fourth shutout of the season.
WHY WESTSIDE LOST: It limited the Panthers to a low completion percentage, but it allowed too many big passing plays.
QUOTABLE: "It was the first touchdown of my senior year. I'll always remember that, and I'll always remember what we've done this season." -- Pitock
