Irish suffer last-minute loss on road

WARRENTON, Ga. --- Warren County pulled out a Region 7-A victory over Aquinas, scoring the game-winner in the final minute.

Dondracus Dozier hit Cornelius Pinkston on a 56-yard touchdown pass with 44 seconds left to lift Warren County, 20-14.

Aquinas had taken a 14-12 lead on Dane Anderson's 20-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Pippen early in the fourth quarter.

The loss drops Aquinas to 3-5 overall, 0-3 in the region.

Mack Brown accounted for more than 100 yards of offense as powerful MLK High blanked Greenbrier in a Region 2-AAAAA game.

Brown, who has verbally committed to play for Florida, rushed for 56 yards. He had one reception, but it went for a 56-yard touchdown for the winners, now 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the region.

Greenbrier, which was limited to 12 yards of total offense and had three turnovers, drops to 2-6 and 1-4.

It doesn't get any easier for Greenbrier. The Wolfpack plays at region leader Stephenson on Friday.

AIKEN --- Aubrey Johnson scored two touchdowns as Aiken broke a six-game losing streak, winning its first region game of the season.

Johnson scored on a 54-yard run and later caught a 41-yard TD pass from Billy Vickers in the Region 5-AAAA game.

Aiken is 3-6 overall and 1-4 in the region.

SWANSEA, S.C. --- Chris Johnson rushed for 103 yards as South Aiken clinched a playoff spot with the Region 5-AAA victory.

Wallace connected on three field goals, including a 31-yarder with five seconds left, for a 15-12 victory on Friday night.

It was the third field goal of the night for Wallace, who was also true from 32 and 29 yards.

Alex Sturkie caught two touchdown passes from Logan Christian for the Spartans' scores.
