PLAY OF THE GAME: Kevin Johnson 's 43-yard punt return put Glenn Hills at the Westside 40 in the third quarter. The Spartans took advantage of the field position, scoring on a 5-yard burst by Germaine Tait .
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Glenn Hills quarterback Kendrick Armstrong put his speed on display, rushing for a game-high 113 yards and scoring the go-ahead touchdown on a 2-yard run in the fourth.
WHY GLENN HILLS WON: The Spartans settled down offensively after two turnovers in the first half and another early in the third. The defense shut down the Patriots' running offense.
WHY WESTSIDE LOST: The Patriots turned an interception into a score to take a 6-0 lead, but they didn't sustain much offense after that. One positive for Westside was freshman running back Trelijah Miller , who replaced the injured Daniel Williams and gained 38 yards on five carries.
