Joint prayer service

St. Luke's Anglican Catholic Church and St. Ignatius Melkite Catholic Church will join in praying vespers at St. Ignatius, 1003 Merry St., at 6:30 tonight in celebration of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

Refreshments will be offered in the reception area after vespers. Clergy members are invited to bring vestments appropriate for the celebration of the office.

Christian dance

The Ga-Lina Christian Singles Club meets Saturdays for a weekly dance, with lessons from 7-8 p.m. and dancing from 8-11 p.m. at Social Inc., in Village West shopping plaza on Washington Road. Smoking and alcohol are not allowed.

Nelons to sing

The Nelons will perform at Bible Deliverance Temple, 1857 Fenwick St., at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Other upcoming events include a youth rally sponsored by Love Without Walls in the Family Life Center at 7 p.m. Friday, including food and games; and an educational outreach ministry and nonprofit seminar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30.

Men's seminar

The Rev. Brent Henderson, a professional hunter and musician, will speak at The Hunting Truth, a seminar starting Friday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

The outdoorsman and martial arts specialist is an ordained pastor and the author of The Hunt for a Man's Heart.

The two-day session includes a wild-game dinner, music, worship and the seminar at 6 p.m. Friday, with fellowship and vendors that open at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, starts with an 8:30 a.m. breakfast, followed by an archery demonstration, worship, music and the seminar.

All activities will be at the newly renovated Family Life Center at 3185 Wheeler Road. Admission costs $20, or $10 for those younger than 22.

Gospel quartet

Bible Fellowship Church, 3701 Old Petersburg Road, Martinez, will feature The Proclaimers Quartet at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Proclaimers Quartet is known for traditional gospel sounds, the Rev. Randy Byrd said. The concert is free.

Priest appreciation

The choirs of the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, 720 Telfair St., will perform at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, in a concert to mark the Year of the Priest. All Catholic priests of the Augusta deanery are invited.

Both the 10:30 a.m. and the 12:30 p.m. choirs will combine efforts "to say thanks to all our Catholic priests in Augusta and Grovetown who do God's ministry in a most loving and Eucharistic manner," said the Rev. Michael Lubinsky, the parochial vicar at the church.
